XCode doesn’t want to be upgraded
After a vacation I had to upgrade my system and software. I got an issue with XCode.
Xcode “There is not enough disk space available to install the product.”
Looks like it’s common issue. But there is no too much manuals about it how to solve this case.
When I tried to install new version of XCode I’ve seen
- I have installed Disk Inventory X and found the following
Removing of Docker doesn’t give some space, because there are still many Docker’s files in Library/Containers. I dropped them also.
I have replaced some video files to my second HDD. Didn’t help.
Hey! XCode what do you want from me?
2. I found on some forums that it’s possible to find XCode in Apple’s software storage and download and install it manually
https://developer.apple.com/download/more
I have no idea how it works, but even I have downloaded XCode to my main storage it didn’t want to be unpacked with the same message — Not enough disk space.
3. Replaced the .xip file to my second storage and tried again. This time unpacking started to work.
What can it mean? Anyone knows?
PS:
ncdu utility is also great for Disc analysis purposes.
